Private Richard C. Sayers, “B” Squadron, Surrey Yeomanry, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 18 January 1915. In 1917, as a Corporal, he was mentioned in Lieutenant-General G. F. Milne’s despatches. He ended the war with the rank of Acting Squadron Quartermaster Serjeant in the regiment. Sold with original M.I.D. certificate, M.I.D. emblem forwarding slip, damaged British War and Victory Medal card box of issue and two registered envelopes for medals, addressed to ‘Mr R. C. Sayers, 128 Sidmouth Rd., Leyton, E.10’, and copied m.i.c.
