William Moore was born in the Parish of St. Mary’s, Athlone. Enlisting into the army, he served in the 87th Foot (Prince of Wales’s Irish Regiment) for 7 years, 6 months. He was wounded in the left leg and head at Bayonne and discharged on 24 January 1817. Moore was granted a pension of 6d per diem, increased to 1/- in 1858. Clasps confirmed, a unique combination to the regiment. Sold with copied research.
