Thomas Curteine was born in County Cork in 1826. He enlisted into the 18th Hussars in about November 1846 and transferred sometime afterwards into the 8th Hussars. He embarked for the Crimea in the H.T.
Mary Anne on 19 April 1854, and served throughout the Crimean campaign. He is shown in the rank of both Private and Farrier on the various Crimean medal and clasp rolls. Curteine transferred to the 4th Dragoon Guards on 28 December 1859, with which regiment he served until discharged on 2 March 1869. Sold with copy discharge papers.
