Joseph White enlisted for the 58th Regiment on 21 June 1823, aged 17 years. He served abroad in Ceylon, 10 years 6 months, and in the Australian Colonies for 4 years 7 months. Promoted to Corporal in October 1842 and to Sergeant in January 1843, he was discharged at Chatham as a Color Sergeant on 23 January 1849. Sold with copy discharge papers.
