Commission Document, appointing ‘Theodore Williams, Gentn., Cornet, in the 10th Regiment of Light Dragoons’, dated 8 April 1846, parchment document, in glass-fronted frame, 42 x 32cm., fold marks, very good condition £30-50

Theodore Williams was appointed Cornet by purchase in the 10th Hussars on 8 April 1846 and Lieutenant by purchase on 25 January 1850. He served with the 10th Hussars in the Crimea from 6 July to 1 October 1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol. He was appointed to the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms on 5 March 1871 and placed on Half Pay in 1889. Sold with copied extracts from His Majesty’s Bodyguard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms, by Brig-Gen. H. Kearsley.
