Leather Wallet, by Bignell, Royal Arcade, W., 175 x 141mm. (when open), bearing on the inside, the initials ‘C. v E.M.’ and three watercolours by Simkin, one of a mounted 11th Hussar, another standing and an 11th Hussar regimental crest, good condition £50-70

Attributed to Major Cuthbert von Essen Moberly, 11th Hussars. Sold with two cards addressed, ‘Major C. von Essen Moberly, Boodles’ and a photocopied group photograph featuring Moberly at Sialkote in 1895 and a copied extract from a roll confirming Lieutenant Moberly, 11th Hussars was entitled to the Queen’s South Africa Medal with clasps for Cape Colony and South Africa 1901 and 1902 for his service in the Boer War when attached to the 17th Lancers.
