The Balkan War medal was awarded to 196 Red Cross personnel who served in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Servia or Montenegro, during the war of 1912-13, the appropriate clasp denoting their individual service. 39 medals were issued with the Bulgaria clasp. Thomas Bryan is confirmed as a Nursing Orderly on the roll of No 1 Unit in Bulgaria.
