St Sepulchre Volunteers, Reward of Merit, 1805, silver, 72mm x 55mm, obv. ‘Saint Sepulchre Volunteers’ on outer garter, this hallmarked London 1804, the centre engraved with GR cypher within garter and motto ‘Pro Patria’, surmounted by crown and surrounded by trophy of arms; rev. ‘The Reward of Merit’ on outer garter, the centre engraved within a garter and motto ‘Pro Aris’, ‘To the best shot for the year 1805’, ornamental loops for suspension, detail a little weak in places through polishing, therefore fine £100-150

The St Sepulchre Volunteers, listed in the 1800 Association Volunteers, had their headquarters at Holborn Viaduct, in Middlesex.
