(Military) Member’s 2nd type breast badge; 1914 Star, with clasp (7272 Sjt., 2/Welsh R.); British War and Victory Medals (148172 Sgt., R.A.F.); Defence and War Medals, both impressed, (W.O. G. T. Williams, M.B.E., R.A.F., 148172); Royal Air Force L.S.& G.C., G.V.R. (148172 A. F. Lt./Sgt., R.A.F.), mounted for display, fine and better (7) £260-300

M.B.E. London Gazette 2 June 1943. Recommendation states: ‘Warrant Officer Griffith Tudor Williams, No.1 Air Gunners
School’ ‘This airman has been employed on disciplinary duties at this unit since June, 1941, and is now approaching his 61st year. He has shown outstanding real, loyalty and diligence. Bearing in mind his age, his fitness is remarkable and he has never spared himself any effort. His splendid example for service faithfully and loyally performed has been an inspiration to all ranks and the results of his meritorious and unceasing labours are reflected in the discipline, smooth organisation and well-being of the unit’.

Griffiths Tudor Williams was appointed a Warrant Officer on 1 October 1940. Sold with original (slightly torn) M.B.E. bestowal document.
