Three: British Constable H. Harrison, Palestine Police, mortally wounded 24 October 1941

Harold Harrison, born in Cheshire and joined the Palestine Police in 1939. On 24 October 1941, while on duty, he was in action in which there was a considerable exchange of fire. Harrison was mortally wounded and died in hospital the following day, aged 36 years. He was buried in the Mount Zion Protestant Cemetery.

The son of Mr and Mrs William Harrison of Tynygongl, Anglesey and the husband of Eileen Harrison of Wombwell, Yorkshire; he left a son aged 4 at the time of his death.

Sold with a (repaired) Colonial Office letter, dated December 1941, addressed to the recipient’s brother, and an interesting quantity of original photographs, many relating to the recipient’s service in Palestine.
