Commsiioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Recce Corps, R.A.C. in November 1943, he was promoted War Substantive Lieutenant in May 1944. He served in 46 Recce in the Middle East and italy. Believed to have been wounded in the leg as a result of an accident with a luger!
