Cyril Maurice Bodle was born on 4 June 1899. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Sussex Regiment on 24 April 1918, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 31 July 1918. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 24 October 1919 and retired, receiving a gratuity, in 1922. A member of the Regular Army Reserve of Officers, he was transferred to the Reconnaissance Corps in 1941. He served at No.1 Recce Training Centre as G.S.O.III Stirling sub area, being appointed Temporary Captain, Recce Corps, 14 March 1941 and War Substantive Captain, 20 January 1942. He retired with the Honorary rank of Captain in 1949. Sold with copied research.
