David Nicol was born in and enlisted at Falkirk, Stirlingshire. Serving with the 8th (Service) Battalion Royal Highlanders (Black Watch), he died of wounds, France/Flanders, on 10 April 1917, aged 41 years. He was buried in the St. Nicolas British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. He was the son of Alexander Nicol of Camelon and husband of D. Nicol of Port Downie, Camelon, Falkirk.

Nicholas Bradley was born in Crieff, Perth and lived and enlisted at Dundee, Forfar. Serving with the 2nd Battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 14 September 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial, Seine et Marne, France.
