Miss Jessie Shepperd served as a Nursing Sister with the French Red Cross at the First British Field Hospital at Antwerp in Belgium from August 1914 to April 1915. Her 1914 Star was issued under Admiralty authority and is named in the usual large ‘Naval Brigade’ style of impressed lettering.

A total of only 32 1914 Stars were issued to this unit.
