John Manning, brother of William H. manning, was born in Potton, Bedfordshire and enlisted at New Cross, Kent. Serving with the 8th Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 27 May 1917. He was the son of Mrs E. Winters of the Orchard, Mill Road, Potton, Bedfordshire.

Corporal William H. Manning, Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment, who had enlisted on 30 November 1907, was discharged from the army on 25 March 1915 due to sickness. He was entitled to a Silver War Badge.
