Herbert Edward Green was born in the Parish of Bow in London. A Seaman by occupation, he attested for the Cameron Highlanders at Inverness on 21 March 1892. He served with the regiment in Malta, September 1892-February 1895; Gibraltar, February 1895-October 1897; Egypt and the Sudan, October 1897-March 1900 and South Africa, March 1900-August 1902. Several times tried by regimental court martial, he was transferred to the Army Reserve in April 1903 and discharged in March 1904. Sold with copied service papers and extracts from rolls confirming medals and clasps.
