Three: Private A. Page, South Staffordshire Regiment

South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1878-9 (582 Pte., 80th Foot); Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (382 Pte., 1/S. Staff. R.), note different numbers; Khedive’s Star 1882, unnamed, mounted for wear, good very fine and better (3) £350-400

Albert Page, a fitter by occupation, enlisted into the 80th Foot at Birmingham on 3 December 1875, aged 21 years, 6 months old. After service in the Sekukuni and Zulu Wars, 1878-79, he was transferred to the Army Reserve on 30 August 1881. Private Page was recalled to the colours for the campaign of 1882 in Egypt. The 80th Foot having by this time become the 2nd Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, Page found himself posted to the 1st Battalion for service in Egypt. Sold with copied service details.
