War Medal 1939-45 (4) (312575 L. R. Holloway; N43303 P. Lekitla; N5994 M. Malumo; N25967 J. Ntlama) first medal suspension slack; General Service 1918-62 (2), 1 clasp, Malaya, G.VI.R. (DN.15977 Pte. Naliti Mandoza, K.A.R.) officially renamed; another, G.VI.R., lacking suspension and clasp (18114128 Pte. M. Donald Samson, K.A.R.), this last with edge bruising; Three: attributed to Private H. S. Knight, 1st South African Infantry, France, Somme Commemorative Medal, bronze, unnamed; Silver War Badge (SA7959); Identity bracelet, inscribed, ‘H. S. Knight, C.E., 4207, 1 S.A.I.R.’, nearly very fine and better (9) £40-60

Louis Rodulph Holloway was born in Geldenhuis, Transvaal on 3 July 1925. As a 16 year old student he attested for service in the South African Air Force on 13 August 1941. As an Airman he served with No.34 Squadron during 1944-45. Sold with copied service papers which indicate that in addition to the above he was awarded the 1939-35 and Italy Stars and Africa Service Medal.

Petros Lekitla, a Msutu from Orlando Township, Johannesburg, attested at Driefontein on 10 February 1942 and served in the N.M.C. until discharged on 5 October 1945. Sold with copied service papers. Also entitled to the Africa Service Medal.

Mudala Malumo served in the ‘Special Company N.M.C. - Eastern Caprivi Zipfel’. 200 men strong; the unit was disbanded on 31 August 1943 when a security unit for that area was no longer required. Sold with copied service papers. Also entitled to the Africa Service Medal.

John Ntlama, a Msutu from Delareyville, attested at Lichtenburg on 3 July 1941 and served in the N.M.C. and was based in Egypt, April 1943-December 1945. Sold with copied service papers. Also entitled to the Africa Star, Defence and Africa Service Medals.

Henry Samuel Knight was born in Wolverton, Buckinghamshire. A carriage fitter working in South Africa, he attested for service in the 1st South African Infantry at Potchefstroom on 2 September 1915. With the unit he served in Egypt, January-April 1916 and France, April-November 1916. Several times admitted to hospital during his military career, he was discharged as permanently unfit for further was service on 12 February 1919. Sold with copied service papers.
