Naval General Service 1915-62, 1 clasp, Persian Gulf 1909-1914 (Payr. A. R. Cowman, R.N. H.M.S. Proserpine) extremely fine £200-250

Arthur Reeve Cowman was appointed Paymaster on 11 September 1909 and promoted to Staff Paymaster on the Retired List on 11 September 1913. He was Paymaster of Proserpine in the East Indies, landed and took part in operations against gun-runners at Ras Bris, Mekran Coast, on 2 November 1910, while proceeding to recover arms and ammunition which had been landed. Commander Marshall and one man were wounded, whilst 389 rifles and more than 32,000 rounds of ammunition were captured.
