James Ryan was born and lived in Oulart, Co. Wexford and enlisted at Liverpool. Serving with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 26 November 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, Louveral.

Gustav (Gussy) McDougall was born in and enlisted at Southport, Lancashire. Serving with the 1st Battalion Black Watch, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 17 November 1917, aged 21 years. The son of Mr G. and Mrs K. R. McDougall of 96 Apper Aughton Road, Southport; he was buried in the Passchendaele New British Cemetery.
