George Gaines enlisted at Aldeshot. Serving with the 2nd/8th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 15 December 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

Petty Officer Regulating Archie Sidney Miles, Royal Navy, died on 16 May 1920, aged 28 years, whilst serving on H.M.S. Ramillies. He was buried in the Chanak Consular Cemetery, Turkey. He was the son of Thomas and Laura Miles of Woodley and husband of Kate Miles of “Fairview”, Western Avenue, Woodley, Reading.
