Waterloo 1815 (James Williamson, 2nd Reg. Life Guards) fitted with steel clip and ring suspension, sometime lacquered, edge bruises and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £1600-1800

James Williamson was born in the Parish of Mappleton, Ashburn, Derbyshire, and enlisted for the 2nd Life Guards for unlimited service at Derby on 28 January 1813, aged twenty-two, a whitesmith by trade. He was discharged on 16 October 1816, in consequence of a ‘wound received at Waterloo affecting the side and rendering him incapable of duty’. Sold with copy discharge papers.
