Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Vittoria (John Freeman, Royal Horse Guards) very fine £700-800

John Freeman was born at Spratton, Northamptonshire, circa 1778, and enlisted into the Royal Horse Guards in 1799, a cordwainer by profession. He served in the Peninsula and at the battle of Waterloo, and was discharged due to long service on 23 May 1821. He was admitted to Chelsea Hospital on a pension of 1s per day after a total service of 24 years and 5 months, including 2 years for Waterloo.
