India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, North West Frontier (Lieut. C. C. B. Tribe, 1st Bn. H.Ms. 19th Regt.) , with silver brooch bar, minor edge bruise, good very fine £280-320

Constantine Charles Barrow Tribe was born in Chatham, Kent on 11 November 1839, and was a King’s Scholar at Kings School Rochester. Commissioned an Ensign in the 19th Regiment on 19 November 1858, he was promoted Lieutenant on 25 August 1862. He served with his regiment in the Black Mountain Expedition on the N.W. Frontier of India in 1868. Was promoted to Captain in the 94th Regiment in 1876 and was with the Army Pay Department in 1879. He died at Aldershot on 12 May 1879 of a self-inflicted wound when attached as Paymaster to the 41st Regiment.
