India General Service 1936-39, 2 clasps, North West Frontier 1936-37, North West Frontier 1937-39 (4387116 Pte., Green Howards); 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Italy Star; War Medal 1939-45; U.N. Korea; Army L.S.& G.C., G.VI.R., 2nd issue, Regular Army (S/4387116 W.O. Cl.1, R.A.S.C.); Army Meritorious Service Medal, E.II.R. (S/4387116 W.O. Cl.1, R.A.S.C.), mounted court style as worn; together with a duplicate set of eight full-size medals - the three ‘named’ medals impressed ‘(Duplicate)’ after the naming, generally nearly extremely fine (16) £600-700

John Dandy was born on 13 December 1909. Entering the ranks of the Yorkshire Regiment in January 1931, he attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 on 27 July 1942 (Acting W.O.Cl. 1 from August 1941). Sold with some service details. Two of the named duplicates differ from the originals in certain minor details - the duplicate I.G.S. has an Indian Mint suspension instead of Royal Mint; the duplicate M.S.M. has a swivel suspension instead of fixed.
