Lieutenant Colonel William Henry Frederick Sorrel served with the expedition from Aden against the Foodlee Arab tribe in 1866, including the destruction of Shugra. Served throughout the Abyssinian campaign from the 4th October, 1867 and commanded a Mountain Battery during Captain Marrett's absence on duty, and was also employed in the Land Transport Train (Medal). He served in the Afghan campaign of 1880 (Medal), and in the Burmese expedition of 1886-7 (Despatches, London Gazette 2nd September 1887, Brevet of Lieut. Colonel and Medal). Sold with copied service research.
