The first notes issued by the Manx branch of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Bank Ltd were placed in circulation in 1904. The bank, which had branches in Douglas, Ramsey, Onchan, Peel, Castletown and Port Erin, amalgamated with Martins Bank Ltd in 1928
