Belgium, First World War, “Argonne”, an unusual bronze ashtray, the American Distinguished Service Cross, argonne above, 83mm, unclear Paris maker’s mark on bottom.; together with an unusual bronze plaquette by Gairal de Serezin, French veteran welcoming young American soldier, his arms around his shoulder, 111 x 124mm. Good very fine and extremely fine (£40-60)

First item presumably made for sale to American servicemen who took part in the successful battle of Argonne, September to October 1918.
