Great Britain, First World War, Naval Raid on Zeebrugge, St George’s Day, 1918, a plated bronze trial for the plaque by P. de Soete for Fisch, symbolic princess freed by St George above clouds issuing from the breached defences of the Zeebrugge Mole, stamped ÉPREUVE D’ARTISTE, No. H.S. below, 97 x 63mm (BM Acq, 1978-82, pl.13, 29; cf. BDW 7, 647; cf. Bonhams 9.xii.1998, 141; BDM –). About extremely fine and very rare (£40-60)
