Austria, First World War, The Quadruple Alliance, 1916, a bronze medal by A.R. Weinberger, busts of Wilhelm II, Franz Joseph, Mehmet V and Ferdinand I, GOT MIT VNS, reverse conjoined busts of five females left, 60mm (cf. BDM VIII, 266); Serbia, Generaloberst Kövess von Kövessháza, c.1916, a uniface bronze medal by C.M. Schwerdtner, bust left, 66mm (BDM VIII, 200). [2]. First extremely fine and attractive, second very fine (£30-40)

With nine busts on it, the first medal represents something of a tour-de-force in portraiture for Weinberger, the Viennese artist
