Lamourdedieu adapted for the Union des Commerçants du Havre, draped female seated, surveying a port, her feet on the prow of a boat, rev. sun’s rays shining from head of Mercury, tablet below, named (1914-1925, Monsieur Benard), 50mm (PBE –; CGMP p.221; BM Acq. 1983-7, p.21, 73; cf. DNW 54, 844) [2]. First extremely fine and rare, in maroon gilt-blocked case of issue by Louis Aubert, 14 rue Oberkampf, Paris XIe [this a trifle distressed], second about extremely fine (£50-70)
