France, Chambre de Commerce, Cherbourg, c. 1910, a silver award medal by M.A. Servant for Aubert, seated figure of Commerce, ship in port and ocean liner in background, rev. aerial view of the port and harbour breakwaters, ocean liner in background, named (Pierre Appell), 50mm (BDM –); Commerce, 1910, a silver award medal by R. Lamourdedieu adapted for the Union des Commerçants du Havre, draped female seated, surveying a port, her feet on the prow of a boat, rev. sun’s rays shining from head of Mercury, tablet below, named (1914-1925, Monsieur Benard), 50mm (PBE –; CGMP p.221; BM Acq. 1983-7, p.21, 73; cf. DNW 54, 844) [2]. First extremely fine and rare, in maroon gilt-blocked case of issue by Louis Aubert, 14 rue Oberkampf, Paris XIe [this a trifle distressed], second about extremely fine (£50-70)
