Victoria (1837-1901), 1860 mule, dies Db, toothed border, lc wyon on truncation, wreath of 15 leaves, lock of hair trifurcate, rev. beaded border, crosses in shield in three incuse lines, lcw below, 9.54g/12h (Gouby H; Satin 9; F 9 [dies 2+B; Sale, lot 7, this coin]; Adams –; ‘Gregory’ 427; BMC 1628; S 3954, 2+A [recté 2+B]). Extremely fine with much original colour, partly toned but the obverse retaining some brilliance, extremely rare, believed to be the best known specimen (£2,000-2,500)

A specimen in fine condition sold for £650 in September 2001 (Croydon Coin Auctions, lot 144), while the ‘Gregory’ example, also fine, sold for £500 in May 2006. See also lot XXXX in this sale
