Les Éprouvés de la Guerre, 1917, a bronze plaque by R. Lamourdedieu, partly disrobed young female and her child seated in the middle of the ruins of her house, ICI LES BARBARES SONT PASSES, rev. robed female figure offering compassion to another female seated with her daughter, wounded man being helped along a path by an elderly lady in background, 70 x 56mm (Frankenhuis 217; CGMP p.220; BDM VII, 529; cf. DNW 53, 1184). About extremely fine; a powerful rendition of the horrors of war on innocent civilians (£50-70)
