Camp Valcartier, 1914, a bronze badge, unsigned, three riflemen taking aim to right, armaments below, rev. legend on maple leaf, 39mm; England, For Marksmanship, a silver award medal, unsigned, two riflemen taking aim to left, rev. wreath, engraved (Country Life Public Schools O.T.C. Competition, 1918), edge named (L. Corporal C.W. Bellerby, University College School), 37mm [2]. First about very fine, second good very fine and toned, in non-original case (£35-45)

Camp Valcartier, now Canadian Forces Base Valcartier, located 15 miles west of Quebec city, was originally established in August 1914 when the Canadian Expeditionary Force was mobilized. At the time it was home to 32,000 servicemen and 8,000 horses and the infrastructure was built in less than 4 weeks
