William IV, Accession, 1830, a silver medal by W. Wyon after F. Chantrey, bust right, rev. adelaide regina cudi jussit mdcccxxx, trident below, within wreath, 68mm (BHM 1414; E 1220). Set in a silver raised rim with glazed lunette, about as struck, a superb medal (£400-600)

Illustrated on the Plates. Sold together with photocopied extracts from Nicholas Carlisle’s Memoir of the Life and Works of William Wyon, 1837, and a photocopied letter from J.W. Morrison, Deputy Master, to the Rt Hon J.C. Herries, Master of the Mint, dated 15 November 1830
