28th (North Gloucestershire) Regiment, an extremely fine and rare example of the battalion company officers’ 1816 pattern shako plate, yellow gilt crown over a silver indented circle, this with fretted battle honours, centrally upon a copper rose gilt back plate the Royal Crest, numerals ‘28’ and sprigs of laurel and palm all in silver, black cloth backing to the battle honours (KK23), two fasteners to reverse, the plate ‘shaped’ for the shako, excellent condition £800-1000
