The Prince of Wales’s Volunteers (South Lancashire Regiment) 2nd Battalion, a very fine and ornate colour belt plate c1881-1920?, 110 x 96mm., oval in outline and featuring a multirayed silver star overlaid with a fine gilt mount detailing eighteen battle honours, six further honours are displayed on laurel sprays around the centre, the battalion’s old number ‘82’ and former badge, the Prince of Wales’s crest and motto also feature; centrally on a blue enamel ground the honour ‘Waterloo’, the Sphinx with ‘Egypt’ and letters ‘P.W.V.’, four screw fasteners to reverse, some crazing to the enamel otherwise mint state £120-150
