The Leicestershire Militia, a fine and rare officers’ 1829-44 pattern shako plate, 160 x 122mm (approx), the crowned copper gilt back plate overlaid with a diamond-cut eight-pointed silver star, this in turn overlaid with a gilt Garter Proper, having a silver centre with red enamel cross, below a floreated scroll ‘Leicester’, a small split to a ray near the cushion of the crown, the reverse of the crown strengthened with crude soldering, both fastening loops present but the additional crown and base wires missing £800-1000
