13th Light Dragoons, a fine and rare officers’ 1830 pattern shako plate, 162 x 120mm., in copper and silver plate, St Edward’s crown over a Maltese cross, the plated domed centre bearing the numerals ‘XIII’ and the motto ‘Viret in Aeturnum’ enclosed by laurel sprays, on the upper arm of the cross ‘Peninsula’ and on the lower ‘Waterloo’, the arms of the cross with inlays of silver ‘hob-nailed’ panels, all nuts loops and fixing wires present on reverse, minute distortions to the finials of the cross and slight staining to some of the gilt otherwise in excellent condition £900-1100

This pattern of plate was carried forward onto the 1845 pattern shako and worn until 1857.
