Ernest George Gunstone was born in Rotherhyde, London on 2 May 1907. A labourer by occupation, he enlisted into the H.L.I. at Fort George on 26 November 1946. Sold with original ‘Soldier’s Service and Pay Book’, unnamed W.W.II medal forwarding slip marked for 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, 1st Army clasp, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defefence and War Medals. Also with Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Certificate of Affiliation, dated 10 July 1956.
