Philip Nathaniel Newbery, from Waterloo, Sydney, was the son of Philip Nathaniel and Elizabeth Newbery of 55 Gipps Street, Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales. Serving in the 3rd Battalion A.I.F. he was killed/died in France/Flanders on 5 October 1917, aged 23 years. He was buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.
