Robert Crawford was born in and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion Highland Light Infantry, he was killed in action on 20 May 1917, aged 20 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. He was the son of Mrs Mary Crawford of 12 Kay Street, Springburn, Glasgow.
