John Clinton was born in and enlisted at Birmingham. Serving with the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 5 November 1914. He was killed in action on 13 January 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial. Sold with commemorative scroll and 1914 Star forwarding slip addressed to Mrs M. Farrington, Birmingham (this last mounted on card); also with copied research.
