1914-15 Star (3569 Pte. G. Seaman, York. R.) good very fine £40-50

George Seaman was born in Storwood, Yorkshire, lived at Skelton and enlisted at Saltburn. He served initially as Private 3569 in the Yorkshire Regiment, entering the France/Flandrs theatre of war on 1 September 1915. Later he served as Private 220435 in the 10th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment. With them he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 12 April 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial.
