Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (Asst. Surgn. R. J. Scott, 73rd Regt.) signs of brooch mounting to obverse, suspension refitted and slack, slight edge bruising, nearly very fine £200-250

Robert Thomas Scott was born at Longford on 25 June 1833. Appointed Assistant Surgeon to the Staff on 8 December 1857, on 19 February 1858 he was tranferred to the 73rd Regiment, with whom he served during the Indian Mutiny for which he was awarded the medal without clasp. On 3 May 1864 he was transferred to the 11th Regiment, returning to the Staff on 10 November 1865. He retired on Half Pay on 25 January 1868 and died at Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath on 7 September 1874.
