The East Riding of Yorkshire Imperial Yeomanry, a superb original officer’s full dress lance cap c1903-1914, the skull of black leather with gilt metal mounts and ‘lace’ waist band, the side panels of French grey cloth, the gilt back plate with silver mounts comprising the cypher of Edward VII running fox unit title scrolls White Rose and laurel sprays, gilt lion’s head side ornaments and velvet lined gilt chin chain, gilt oak leaf finials to the trencher top, plume boss being a large silver rose, gilt metal hussar pattern plume holder supporting an original cocks feather plume of French grey over white, internal correct leather sweat band and fine weight silk liner bearing the official supplier’s trade label ‘H.Poole & Co Savile Row London’, minor crazing to the leather sections overall, the cloth side panels and plumes faded, minor stitching faults to the sweatband, all these are commensurate with age and are to be expected on an original cap £3000-4000
