, G.VI.R., hallmarks for London 1948, reverse officially dated ‘1944’, and crudely engraved ‘RTW’, an official replacement, in its Garrard & Co. case of issue, together with related dress miniature, extremely fine (2) £300-400

Raymond Thomas Walker was decorated for his services aboard H.M.S.
Jamaica during Russian convoy JW. 51B in December 1942, and received his award at an investiture held on 21 November 1944. He had earlier been mentioned in despatches for his services as a Midshipman in H.M.S. Janus during the withdrawal from Crete (London Gazette 8 January 1942 refers).
