Royal Household Faithful Service Token 1930 (W. H. Benstead), silver, in H. Stabler, London case of issue, extremely fine £80-100

William Henry Benstead, a worker on the Sandringham Estate, joined the armed forces in December 1915, initially with the 12th Battalion Essex Regiment and then transferred to the Machine Gun Corps. Served at Vimy Ridge, Arras and Ypres 1917, embarked for Italy in 1917 but returned for further service in France during 1918.
