Samuel Heather, son of Samuel and Mary Heather of London and husband of Frances Heather of Chatham, Ontario, was killed in action, serving with the 1st Battalion Canadian Infantry (Western Ontario Regiment), on 26 April 1916, aged 43 years. He was buried in the Hooge Crater Cemetery, Ieper, West Vlaanderen, Belgium.
