M.S.M. London Gazette 17 June 1918. ‘34226 Cpl. W. Haddock, R.G.A. (Ipswich)’. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered with the Forces in France during the present war’.

‘X’ Troop, 19th Medium Trench Mortar Battery. Such batteries often had a very rough time at the front, being a major target and, unlike the infantry, were not rotated in and out of the line on a regular basis.
